IDG’s Computerworld Names Booz Allen to Annual List of Best Places to Work in Information Technology

McLean, VA -- June 30, 2008 – Booz Allen Hamilton announced today that IDG’s Computerworld magazine, the “Voice of IT Management,” has selected it as one of the top workplaces for information technology (IT) professionals. Booz Allen was ranked 50th on this year’s list. This honor is part of the weekly IT publication’s 15th annual Best Places to Work in IT survey, which was published in the June 30th issue of Computerworld and online at Computerworld.com.

Booz Allen was highlighted for keeping its IT employees engaged. By regularly forecasting business needs, the company can identify changes in functional roles and upcoming trends in technology, and shape new career opportunities for its IT employees. As a result of this forecasting, three new career tracks have recently been added for IT workers: business partnering, centers of expertise and core services, which includes, for example, working with other functional areas like human resources and finance to deliver services to the business.

“As one of the Best Places to Work in IT, we understand the importance of continuously creating avenues for our IT staff to gain new skills, shape their careers, and connect with their colleagues across the organization to instill in them a sense of empowerment and collaboration that furthers the success of the entire organization,” says Booz Allen Vice President and Chief Information Officer Frank Smith.

Since 1994, Computerworld’s annual “Best Places to Work in IT” feature has ranked the top 100 work environments for technology professionals, based on a comprehensive questionnaire regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, diversity, career development, training and retention. In addition, Computerworld conducts extensive surveys of IT workers, and their responses factor heavily in determining the rankings.
