Still Reeling

'The House Bunny' (PG-13)

Starring: Anna Faris, Colin Hanks

Former Playboy bunny is out to get a job as a house mother on a college campus. Opens Aug. 22.

'The Rocker' (PG-13)

Starring: Rainn Wilson, Christina Applegate

A drummer who has washed out of his band sets out to start anew with a group of teenagers. Opens Aug. 20.

'Tropic Thunder' (R)

Starring: Ben Stiller, Robert Downey Jr.

Actors making a war film get dropped into the middle of a real life "war zone". Extremely raunchy, but funny nonetheless, this will shock some folks.

'Star Wars: The Clone Wars' (PG-13))

Starring: Matt Lanter, Ashley Eckstein

More Jedi mind tricks brought to you in animated form by George Lucas and the minds behind Star Wars.

'Vicky Cristina Barcelona' (PG-13)

Starring: Scarlett Johansson, Penelope Cruz

Woody Allen is back with this comedy about two girls on vacation in Spain when they meet a painter played by Javier Bardem.

'Mirrors' (R)

Starring: Kevin Bacon, Paula Patton

This horror flick has Kiefer Sutherland and some creepy mirrors that show things that aren't real pleasant.

'Pineapple Express' (R)

Starring: Seth Rogen, James Franco

A stoner action/comedy that will have you laughing and then wondering what's up. The highs and the lows of the movie mimic real life as murderers try to hunt down Seth Rogen and James Franco.

'The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2' (PG-13)

Starring: Amber Tamblyn, America Ferrera

The girls have become young women, but the pants still keep them together. Though they start to grow apart, the journey is the adventure and answering the question of what they really are looking for in the world.

'The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor' (PG-13)

Starring: Brendan Fraser, Jet Li

This franchise has ran its course, I'm sorry to say. Not enough action, comedy, or realism to make it another enjoyable trip.

'Swing Vote' (PG-13)

Starring: Kevin Costner

The only vote that counts in a crazy election has both candidates courting Kevin Costner's support. Timely with election season 2008 fast approaching, but will it play.

'Step Brothers' (R)

Starring: Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly

Oh so funny, but oh so crude, Ferrell and Reilly work well together. This will have you laughing but feeling like you need a shower after it.

'The X-Files: I Want To Believe' (PG-13)

Starring: David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson

As a fan of the series, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. I wanted something else. But that creepy music still gets me excited every time.

'The Dark Knight' (PG-13)

Starring: Christian Bale, Heath Ledger

Heath Ledger is amazing, and this is the way a summer popcorn movie should be made. Worth every penny you pay for an admission ticket.

'Mamma Mia!' (PG-13)

Starring: Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried

Do you like the movie musical? This one might be for you! Many have been waiting for this show to become a film and now the wait is over. Opens Friday.

'Hellboy II: The Golden Army' (PG-13)

Starring: Ron Perlman, Selma Blair

Did you see the first film? You'll probably like this one too then as Hellboy must save the world from rebellious creatures.

'Meet Dave' (PG-13)

Starring: Eddie Murphy, Elisabeth Banks

Wasn't sure what to expect, but it wasn't awful, really, I'm serious, listen…it's not as bat as Norbit! But that's not saying a lot I guess.

'Hancock' (PG-13)

Starring: Will Smith, Jason Bateman

When PR veteran Ray (Bateman) gets a hold of superhero Hancock (Smith) it's time for an image makeover.

'Wall-E' (G)

Starring: voice of Ben Burtt, Fred Willard

Amazing animation from the folks at Pixar, but we have come to expect that from them. A true love story that will have kids and adults loving their time at the movies.
