Participants needed for plane pull

Special Olympics is looking for volunteers and team members to participate in its annual airplane pull Sept. 6.

Since the plane pull first began, it has brought in about $1.5 million for the nonprofit.

Proceeds from the event at Washington Dulles International Airport will benefit Special Olympics as sponsored teams compete to pull 157,000-pound cargo jets. Teams of 20 compete to see which is the fastest at pulling an airplane 12 feet. Children can participate in an school bus pull.

Teams must raise a minimum of $1,000 to participate in the plane pull, and children must raise a minimum of $10 to participate in the bus pull.
